What Makes A Good Website

Though there may be a lot of different factors that make a good website, there is always only a handful of concepts a webmaster or designer needs to keep in mind to be able to make a one. But how exactly do we qualify what a ‘good’ website is? What makes a good website? Well, a strong and unique design would be nice. Also, user-friendliness is definitely a plus. These aspects of course reflect the visitors’ side of things. For webmaster and online entrepreneurs, a good website is a website that generates income.

So let’s start with what makes a good website in the visitor’s point of view.....

If you were trying to find some information in the internet and happen to stumble on a site that offers all the information you want and need, would you really be too particular about design?

Probably not.

Let’s take Google for instance. The Google landing page offers a single text entry field, a couple of search options and a couple of buttons for executing the search. You’re not there to dote on the design—you’re there because you need what Google can offer. But this is in no way to demerit the advantages of having a unique design strong enough to make that lasting first impression.

For people leisurely surfing the web what normally catches their eye is the design of the website they’re visiting. But the design and format of your website needs to be user-friendly. This means navigation is quick and easy and a wide range of users can leisurely go through each and every page of your site without difficulty. But this also means there are no annoying, distracting elements like too much animation or sound. Consider how your site’s visitors would react to the elements you’re incorporating to your website when programming it.

As for what makes a good website in the webmaster’s point of view, that’s pretty simple. A site that can effectively host a number of efficient monetization tools is a webmaster’s dream. Though of course, having a site heavily monetized means going to the effort of striking that needed balance between web design and monetization.
